As we all are in our hives this week, I am sure people are wondering NUCS,,, QUEENS.. PACKAGES...

First off, buy nucs if you can. Secondly, BUY LOCALLY. By doing these two things you have a better success rate. Here is the catch, most of us in the group will not be splitting our hives until April or May. That doesn't help those of you who need them earlier. I suggest going to Indiana bee groups on Facebook and ask. I know Bastins and White Lick Bee Association has some. There will be others mentioned at Bee School next week. Please stay away from packages because they are normally bees that have been combined from other hives. Sometimes, the queen will not have been accepted or even damaged. By buying local, you are getting bees that are from this environment.

If you are needing queens, a good place to start is Indiana Queen Rears Association.
