Bee Club meeting Followup

Vickie TROUT -
Three things to follow up from this week's meeting. Thanks for everyone who came, enjoyed pizza, helped out and made a bunch of candy boards and bricks for winter insurance for our beehives. From the lost and found department - if you are missing your Blue Champion windbreaker just let me know. I also have a measuring cup that was left over.
Sally Hooks wanted to share the information below from the Purdue Extension Office. Linda Tarr is a resource who works with veterans in agriculture. As you scroll down there is a Veteran's in Farming workshop in January that includes beekeeping. If you are a veteran you might want to tap into this resource.

As we say farewell to autumn and prepare for the onset of holiday season, take time to celebrate and reap the rewards of your hard work. Many farmers are preparing their equipment and safeguarding their crops and livestock for winter weather, but it’s still a great time to purchase mushrooms, cabbage, root crops, meat and poultry, and value-added products from your local farmers. Stay updated on the latest Extension events and opportunities in your county, and keep an eye out for upcoming conferences, workshops, and programs throughout Indiana! If you have any stories, tips, or suggestions for future newsletters, please feel free to share them with us.

North Central SARE strengthens communities, increases producers' economic viability, and improves the environment through grants and education.

The focus for NCR-SARE grant programs is on research and education. Funding considerations are based on how well the applicant presents the problem being addressed, its relevance to sustainable agriculture in the 12-state North Central region, and how well it aligns with NCR-SARE's goals. NCR-SARE's grant program Review Committees review proposals and make recommendations to the Administrative Council. Are you interested in becoming a project coordinator for an NCR-SARE grant? If so, and if you live in the North Central region, consider applying for an NCR-SARE grant.
